I've known creativity was my calling for as long as I can remember. I always knew I wasn't going to be the person crunching numbers at a desk. I was going to be the one creating beautiful things. It was never really a question.

It started with art. Paint, pencil, whatever I could get my hands on. But it didn't stop there.

By the time I was old enough to dress myself, I was doing three outfit changes a day, not because I couldn't make up my mind, but because I loved it that much. Fashion wasn't just clothes to me. It was storytelling. It was a whole language I already knew how to speak.

That love grew into something more. I started filling sketchbooks with fashion drawings, dreaming up garments the way other kids dreamed up anything else. It felt natural that I'd study fashion design and I did, finishing my Honours degree and coming out the other side ready to create.

But the industry had other plans. The job market was brutal, and honestly? The roles that existed didn't feel like me.

So I looked for the gap.

What I found was this: New Zealand sustainable fashion that actually has a personality. Pieces that are conscious and playful. Considered and fun. That gap became Safarii Sky.

Every piece is made from deadstock fabric, sourced sustainably, produced in limited runs, never restocked. Because fashion should feel good in every sense of the word.

This is what I was always building toward. I just had to build it myself.

And I mean that literally Safarii Sky is a one woman show. I design, sew, and bring every single piece to life myself. It's a labour of love, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Transparency and slow Fashion 

As a fashion brand, we know we contribute to waste and we're constantly refining our processes to minimise that impact. Our small way of doing better: dead stock fabrics, locally made by hand here in NZ, sustainable sampling processes and small batch drops only.

By starting a fashion brand, I know exactly how much time, skill and care goes into a single garment. That craftsmanship deserves to be honoured which is why I want you to love your pieces for a lifetime, not just a season.

We're building a community of conscious consumers who see the value in that process. Thank you for being part of it.

Dead stock Fabrics 

Dead stock fabrics are leftover materials that don't get used by big brands or textile mills that have over ordered or over produced fabric.

We use an array of locally sourced dead stock fabrics for our designs. This means we use fabric that would have ended up in landfill and make our designs from this fabric. As we cannot control the quantity of this fabric, our garments are often made in very small batches making them unique and limited designs.

Our pieces are designed, cut and sewn locally in Wellington, New Zealand. This limits our carbon footprint and wastage caused from packaging as all stock is made in our Studio. 

Packaging 

We use 100% Recycled Plastic pollution  for all our orders sent out to our customers.

As our products are made locally in Wellington, New Zealand it minimises our packaging and helps us reduce our carbon footprint.
